Dear Twilight Hunter,
When you asked for a few snapshots of
sunrises and sunsets and twilit skies from my travels, I thought one letter with a few photos
would do it. But I didn’t realise just
how obsessive I am with the sky and the sun.
I like to think I can sit just there and watch the sky paint itself, registering and remembering colour and cloud and sound, without the need to resort to a lens or
a memory card. And then I looked through
my photos – there must be hundreds, thousands, of photos of the evening and morning sky: sun
in the corner, sun in the centre, sun behind a castle, sun behind the ocean,
purple on top of pink, pink on top of purple, crooked and blurry and impossible
and astonishing. This note is just the
beginning.
The following photographs were taken during a few weeks' hitchhike around England and Wales in June/July 2011.

Not sunset or twilight - but the sky, at least. Couldn't resist enclosing it.
